Meet Our Clients
Youhones is a young, highly motivated medical client from Sudan. After researching what educational path he would need to take, he entered the Faculty of Medicine. As a result of an in-house Client Aid presentation, he was able to complete the application process and get approval.
While studying, he obtained part-time employment at Convergys as a Customer Service Representative. In February, 2008 he was hired as a part-time educational assistant with the New Beginnings project, assisting young men of African background to go forward with their lives in a positive way.
Youhones' focus and drive make him an exemplary model of someone who is working hard and embracing the educational and employment opportunities in Canada.
Gebrehiwot is an experienced foreign-trained Nurse Practitioner. While in the program he conducted extensive research to get back into the field he loved. He needed exposure to the health care profession, so he completed two weeks of Canadian Work Exposure and six weeks of Work Experience at Calvary Place Personal Care Home. He is now upgrading his language skills and working part-time as a health care aide with CH Health and Home Care Services.
Jasdeep worked as a Service Advisor, Junior Service Manager, and Service Manager specializing in commercial vehicles in India. He has also completed a three-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering in his home country.
After one-on-one career counselling, Jasdeep researched and visited several trucking companies within the Oak Point Highway area. After a second interview, Jasdeep was offered a full-time Parts Person position. He is now gaining valuable experience in the automobile industry. To further his future opportunities, he is upgrading his language skills.
Negar has a Natural Resource Engineering Degree from Iran and a Masters in Environmental Design specializing in Landscape Design. She has also worked as an Environmental Consultant and Generalist.
At ESIY, she was able to explore the environmental field in Canada, identifying options in order to make an informed decision about her future. She is currently working in the environmental field for an organization committed to providing her with responsibility and the opportunity to upgrade her skills.
