For Employers
Immigration plays a pivotal role in the future economic growth and prosperity of Manitoba. The facts speak for themselves - a declining birthrate, an aging workforce, greater population diversity, and a shortage of skilled labour affect the changing dynamics of our labour market. Employment Solutions for Immigrant Youth (ESIY) can assist employers in meeting these challenges. Our clients are ready and able to meet growing workplace needs. They possess the skills, attributes, and commitment essential to a workplace's continued growth.
Workplace diversity is vital in achieving organizational strength and fostering a culture of innovation. Tap into an internationally-trained pool of workers with a variety of talents and skills.
All services are offered free of charge, with careful follow up and monitoring to ensure compatibility during the placement. Candidates referred by Employment Solutions receive a training allowance based on the minimum wage as well as coverage under Workers Compensation which is extended for the duration of their placement with an employer.
Assessment and referral: ESIY will refer qualified candidates to meet job specifications. Employers review resumes and schedule interviews to confirm that skill sets match workplace requirements and standards.
Programs for Employers
We can help employers meet their human resources needs through one or both of the following programs:
Canadian Work Exposure
A Canadian Work Exposure is a two-week placement with a company that gives employers the opportunity to assess, first-hand, the job readiness of a potential employee, at no cost.
Employment Solutions for Immigrant Youth will connect employers with a candidate who is job ready and possesses the skill set required by the job. During the two week period, ESIY provides the candidate with financial support as the employer evaluates their suitability.
Work Experience
If employers identify the need for additional on-the-job training, Employment Solutions for Immigrant Youth can negotiate up to six weeks of additional paid work experience. This provides employers with a realistic time frame to determine whether the trainee will be a good candidate for future employment.
Employers may be eligible for a combination of both the Canadian Work Exposure and the Work Experience placements depending on their needs and training periods. In all cases, Employment Solutions for Immigrant Youth offers a talented workforce, a flexible assistance package, and Workers Compensation coverage to bridge training needs.
